Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She was widely credited for initiating the modern study of memory recall by eyewitnesses, and the role of children in witnessing. Professor Goodman has published widely as well as received numerous grants. She has also has been awarded numerous national and international distinctions. She has collaborated with numerous government agencies and institutions all over the world to conduct policy and research relating to children who are victims of the legal system. She currently acts as a advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center located at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a fellow of many professional organizations including The Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology of women and trauma stress 56). She is a founding member of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was President of the American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
